FANVAN: A Journey of Passion, Fans, and Stories

For many, sports are not just games but an emotional journey shared with family, friends, and communities. The FANVAN project is a testament to this very spirit—a celebration of sports, fans, and their incredible stories, all brought to life on the road across the UK and Ireland.

When we think of sports, we often think of epic wins, fierce rivalries, and legendary athletes. But at the heart of every game lies something much bigger: the fans.

The Birth of FANVAN: How It All Started

The story of FANVAN began with Luke, LDR Media’s Director. In 2017, Luke partnered with Sky Sports, one of the world’s leading sports broadcasters, to create a unique and innovative concept. The idea? A mobile studio on wheels that would capture the raw passion, excitement, and behind-the-scenes stories of fans during one of rugby’s most iconic events—the British and Irish Lions Tour.

The concept was simple yet brilliant:

  • Travel across the UK and Ireland.
  • Meet real fans, families, and communities.
  • Share their stories in an authentic, engaging way through social media, live shows, and TV content.

The FANVAN was born not just as a vehicle, but as a symbol of unity, fandom, and adventure.
