Ingredients
  

  • 4 tostada shells store-bought or homemade
  • 1 ½ cups cooked shredded chicken
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce your favorite
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup black beans drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup red onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • Optional toppings: sour cream avocado slices, jalapeños, lime wedges, or diced tomatoes

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with BBQ sauce until evenly coated.
  3. Lay out the tostada shells on the baking sheet. Top each with a layer of black beans, followed by the BBQ chicken. Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
  4. Bake for 7–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
  5. Remove from oven and top with red onion, cilantro, and any optional toppings. Serve immediately while crispy.

Notes

  • Refrigerator: Store leftover components separately for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat: Reheat assembled tostadas in the oven or air fryer to keep them crispy.
  • Freezing: Not ideal for freezing due to texture loss.
