Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked shredded or cubed chicken
  • 3 cups cooked pasta penne or rotini work well
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup seasoned Italian breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Fresh basil or parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cooked chicken, cooked pasta, and marinara sauce until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Spread half of the chicken-pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella and half of the Parmesan. Add the remaining chicken mixture and top with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the Italian breadcrumbs, melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the breadcrumb topping is golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • Freezer: Freeze unbaked or baked casserole for up to 2 months. Wrap tightly and thaw overnight before reheating.
