Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter cubed
  • ¾ cup milk or buttermilk for extra fluffiness

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add the milk, stirring gently until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix, as this will keep the biscuits tender and flaky.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and pat it into a ½-inch thick rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out circles. Place the biscuits on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite toppings!
