Ingredients

  • 40 mini pretzel twists or pretzel rods
  • 10 oz about 1 1/2 cups semisweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter optional, for smoother dipping
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Sprinkles
  • Crushed nuts e.g., peanuts, almonds, pecans
  • Crushed peppermint or toffee bits
  • White chocolate drizzle
  • Sea salt flakes

Method

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, use a double boiler on the stovetop. The chocolate should be smooth and glossy. If it’s too thick, add a bit more coconut oil to thin it.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Dip each pretzel about two-thirds of the way into the melted chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off. Place the dipped pretzels onto the lined tray. If you're using toppings, sprinkle them on immediately before the chocolate sets.
  3. Once all the pretzels are dipped and topped, place the tray in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set and hardened.
  4. Once set, the chocolate pretzels are ready to serve, gift, or store. Handle gently to avoid smudging or melting the chocolate.
