Cornflake Wreaths

Cornflake Wreaths are a whimsical and classic holiday treat made with just a few simple ingredients. These chewy, buttery, and sweet no-bake cookies are shaped like miniature wreaths, dyed green with food coloring, and adorned with red candy “berries.” They’re festive, fun to make, and perfect for holiday cookie trays, parties, or even as edible decorations. The texture is reminiscent of a marshmallow cereal bar, but with a charming twist in presentation. These treats are great for getting the whole family involved—kids especially love shaping them and adding the little red candies. Whether you’re baking with little helpers or preparing a nostalgic favorite for guests, cornflake wreaths are always a hit.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package 10 oz mini marshmallows
  • 1 tsp green food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups cornflakes cereal
  • Red cinnamon candies or red M&M’s for garnish
  • Nonstick cooking spray or butter for hands

Method

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in the green food coloring and vanilla extract, mixing until evenly combined and bright green.
  3. Gently fold in the cornflakes, coating them completely with the green marshmallow mixture.
  4. Spray your hands with nonstick spray or lightly butter them. Scoop small portions of the mixture and shape them into round wreaths on a parchment-lined baking sheet. While still warm, press 2–3 red candies onto each wreath for decoration. Allow to set at room temperature.

Notes

  • Room Temperature: Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Avoid Moisture: Keep in a cool, dry place to maintain the chewy texture.
  • Freezing: Not recommended, as marshmallows may become sticky when thawed.
