Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Cuban bread or French bread
  • ½ cup yellow mustard
  • ½ lb roasted pork thinly sliced
  • ½ lb ham thinly sliced
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup dill pickles sliced
  • 4 tbsp butter softened

Method

  1. Slice the Cuban bread in half lengthwise. Spread mustard evenly on both halves of the bread.
  2. Start by layering the ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, and pickles onto the bottom half of the bread. Place the top half of the bread over the fillings.
  3. Spread softened butter on the outside of the bread. Heat a panini press or a heavy skillet over medium heat. Press the sandwich down and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
  4. Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, then slice diagonally and serve hot. Enjoy your crispy and cheesy Cuban Sandwich!

Notes

  • Refrigeration: Wrap the sandwich tightly and store for up to 2 days.
  • Reheating: Heat in a pan over medium heat until crispy again.
  • Freezing: Not recommended, as the bread may become soggy.
