Ingredients

  • For the Biscuits:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • For the Garlic Butter Topping:
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese. Gradually pour in buttermilk, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. While the biscuits are baking, mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush over warm biscuits immediately after baking. Serve hot!
