Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (cubed)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water slurry
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 green onions sliced

Method

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cubed chicken and cook until golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, then add the cornstarch slurry. Stir until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken beautifully.
  4. Spoon the sticky chicken over warm rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Spicier Kick: Add extra red pepper flakes or sriracha. 🌶️
  • Vegetarian Option: Swap chicken for tofu. 🍽️
