  • 4 cups finely chopped green cabbage
  • ¼ cup shredded carrots
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced onion
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. Finely chop the cabbage, shred the carrots, and dice the onion. Transfer everything to a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, buttermilk, whole milk, sugar, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly coated in the creamy dressing.
  4. Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. This allows the flavors to blend and enhances the taste.

Notes

  • Make-Ahead: Best made a few hours in advance for the flavors to blend.
  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Refreshing Tip: Stir before serving as the dressing may settle.
