  • For the Dough:
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • For the Strawberry Filling:
  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries chopped
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and the egg. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Stir until the mixture thickens (about 5 minutes). Let it cool completely.
  3. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the strawberry filling evenly. Roll the dough tightly and cut it into 12 pieces. Place them in a greased baking dish and let them rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
